Unified Development Ordinance – every property will be rezoned soon!
Duplexes, triplexes, quads and larger apartments are proposed to be added to single-family neighborhoods in Bloomington. The greatest impact and burden of the zoning changes will be felt by the core neighborhoods surrounding the university and downtown, although neighborhoods with covenants are not excluded. Core neighborhoods, with small houses on modest lots, represent the most affordable and sustainable housing stock in Bloomington. National developers have their eyes on this zoning change and have already contacted local real estate companies. Check out CONA’s position on this issue.
